The National Lacrosse League has announced Calgary Roughnecks forward Shawn Evans as the Pinty’s Wingman of the Week award winner for Week 10 of the 2015 NLL regular season.
Evans, who ranks second in the league with 68 points (24+44) and first in points per game (7.56), posted eight points (2+6) in Calgary’s 12-11 overtime win over the Edmonton Rush this past Sunday. The 10-year NLL veteran’s 44 assists are good for third in the league while his 24 goals are tied for fifth-most among all players.
The 2013 NLL MVP, Evans is currently on pace for 136 points, which would break the NLL single-season record of 116 points set in 2012. The Peterborough, Ontario native, who played collegiately at Bellarmine University, was the second overall pick in the 2005 NLL Entry Draft.
Pinty’s is an official partner for the NLL on TSN during the 2015 season. Each week, an NLL player will receive the “Pinty’s Wingman of the Week” award based on their performance with respect to passing prowess and playmaking abilities. The weekly award winners will be entered into the pool of finalists for the “Pinty’s Wingman of the Year” award at the end of the season.
