Discipline Summary: Week 7

The National Lacrosse League has issued a summary of discipline following an official league review of NLL Week 7 incidents for games played on Friday, Feb. 13 to Sunday, Feb. 15.

Calgary Roughnecks forward Dane Dobbie has been assessed a two-game suspension for a high-sticking incident on Vancouver Stealth defenseman Rory Smith at approximately the 3:03 mark of the fourth quarter of their game on Saturday, Feb. 14. The officials assessed a match penalty for high sticking on the field, and upon league review, the match penalty is upheld for violation of High Sticking (Rule 62.2), which carries an automatic two-game suspension (Rule 41.2). Dobbie has appealed the suspension and is eligible to play in NLL Week 8.

New England Black Wolves defenseman Bill O’Brien has been assessed a Game Misconduct penalty as a result of receiving Two Majors in One Game (Rule 38.2) during their match against the Rochester Knighthawks on Sunday, Feb. 15.

New England Black Wolves defenseman Mike Manley was assessed a Game Misconduct penalty for Contact While Shooting on Net/Contact on Goalie Initiated by Attacker (Rule 69.3) during their game against Rochester on Sunday, Feb. 15.

Toronto Rock defenseman Bill Hostrawser has been assessed a Game Misconduct penalty as a result of receiving Two Majors in One Game (Rule 38.2) during their match against the Minnesota Swarm on Saturday, Feb. 14.

In other league discipline news, the two-game suspension for Buffalo Bandits defenseman Nick Weiss has been overturned. Weiss was originally assessed a two-game suspension for an illegal cross-checking incident on Rochester Knighthawks forward Joel Matthews at approximately the 0:42 mark of the second quarter during their game on Saturday, Jan. 31.
